Spring 2025 Trail Updates

Open Trails & Routes

Minocqua, Woodruff, Arbor Vitae, Vilas and Oneida County, Lake Tomahawk and St Germain - paved routes are open year-round.
Note: Hwy 47 through Lake Tomahawk is never open to ATV/UTV traffic!
Please follow local signs for any exceptions
Vilas County county roads, except in the Town of Lac Du Flambeau, are open year round to ATV/UTV travel. See the linked notice for more details.

Reminders

The exact opening date for each county is determined based on several factors including weather. Stay tuned for updates.
Please follow posted signs.
Do not ride on or in ditches of state roads (70, 51, 47) unless it's specifically marked as an ATV route.
There are no designated routes to access downtown Minocqua—do not ride into town.

Lake Tomahawk Town Ordinances

REMEMBER each Town and/or County in the State May Have Additional Laws.

1 All operators of an ATV/UTV shall possess and have in their possession a valid driver's license.
2 All operators of an ATV/UTV shall carry the same liability insurance that is required by Wisconsin to operate a vehicle on Wisconsin roadways and must carry proof of said insurance covering ATV/UTV they are operating with them.
3 The allowed hours of operation are 8:00am to 9:00pm
4 Lights must be on at all times, and approved hand signals must be used whenever the operator intends to change speed or direction.
5 All riders under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.
6 All ATV/UTV operators shall observe a speed limit of 25mph or the posted speed limit, which ever is less.
7 All operators shall ride in single file.
8 Never ride on Hwy 47.
